Looking for a hotel near Unpar in Bandung? Aksara Hotel is on Jl. Rancabentang No. 5A in Ciumbuleuit, about 200 metres from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan. It is close enough to walk, so you can forget about traffic and parking every time you need to be on campus.

This guide is for parents visiting their children, prospective students coming for entrance tests or a campus tour, families travelling in for graduation, and anyone attending a seminar or academic event at the university. It covers choosing a room, planning your days and the small details that make a big day feel calmer.

Why a Hotel Near Unpar Makes Life Easier

Campus days tend to be busy, with test schedules, meetings with faculty staff and family occasions that need to run on time. Staying within walking distance gives you room to breathe: pop back to your room between appointments, fetch something you forgot or change clothes without booking a ride.

Ciumbuleuit is in north Bandung, where the air is cooler. The city centre is about 15 minutes away by car, depending on traffic, so heading out for dinner or a bit of sightseeing after your campus errands is still easy.

Tip: share the hotel address with family members arriving separately: Jl. Rancabentang No. 5A, Ciumbuleuit, Bandung 40141. Unpar, only about 200 metres away, is an easy landmark for drivers.

For Parents Helping a Student Settle

The first weeks of university are usually full of errands: sorting out a boarding room, buying supplies and helping your son or daughter find their feet in a new neighbourhood. Spending a few nights near campus makes all of this easier to manage, and you stay close by without long trips back and forth.

A few useful places near the hotel:

  • Yogya Ciumbuleuit supermarket, about 550 m away, for everyday shopping and things for a student room.
  • RSAU Dr. M. Salamun hospital, about 550 m, and RS Advent Bandung, about 2.5 km. Worth knowing from day one, just in case.
  • Museum Srihadi Soedarsono, about 600 m, for a quiet afternoon together. Check the latest opening hours before you go.
  • Artisan Coffee on the hotel's 2nd floor, open to the public too, so your student can drop in for a meal or a chat.

Making Graduation Day Run Smoothly

Graduation is a day the whole family looks forward to, and many other families tend to arrive on the same dates. As soon as the university confirms the schedule, book your room while there is still a full choice of room types. Our guide on when to book a hotel in Bandung can help with timing.

A few things that help on the day itself:

  1. Arrive the day before. Check-in starts at 2 pm, so if the ceremony begins in the morning, staying the night before is far more relaxed.
  2. Prepare outfits the evening before. An iron and a hair dryer are available on request from the front desk, handy for a kebaya, a suit or a gown that needs smoothing.
  3. Plan breakfast. Room rates do not include breakfast at the moment. Artisan Coffee opens at 8 am; for an earlier start, see our ideas for a typical Bandung breakfast around town.
  4. Walk to campus. At around 200 metres, you will not depend on a car or on parking spaces that can fill up quickly during big events.
  5. Mind the check-out time. Check-out is by 12 noon. If the celebrations carry on into the afternoon, consider adding another night.

Choosing a Room for Your Group

Aksara Hotel has three room categories, all with a retro mid-century look. Every room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a hot shower, a mini fridge, a safe and an electric kettle with tea and coffee.

  • King Room: one king bed, ideal for 2 guests (up to 2 adults and 1 child). A good fit for parents travelling as a couple.
  • 2 Queen Room: two queen beds, ideal for 4 guests. Well suited to a family group at graduation.
  • Family Room with Bunkbed: one king bed plus bunk beds for 2 children or adults. Practical when younger siblings come along.

If several families are travelling together, you can book more than one room in a single booking. Have a look at the 2 Queen Room for larger groups.

Unwinding and Celebrating After the Ceremony

After a long day on campus, the hotel's outdoor pool, open 24 hours, is a pleasant place to unwind, even late in the evening. The retro lobby, with its convex mirrors and leather sofas, also has colourful photo spots for a few pictures with the graduate.

For a small celebration, Artisan Coffee on the 2nd floor has a rooftop terrace looking out over the trees of Ciumbuleuit. It opens from 8 am to 10 pm Sunday to Thursday and from 8 am to 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Everything on the menu is halal, and Es Kopi Susu Pandan and Nasi Goreng Merah are firm favourites.
