The first and last days of a stay are often the busiest part of any trip. There are suitcases to manage, trains to catch and plans you are keen to get started on. Knowing the hotel check-in and check-out rules in advance makes everything run more smoothly.

This guide covers what you need to know before you arrive at Aksara Hotel in Ciumbuleuit, north Bandung: check-in and check-out times, what to bring, how to prepare before you set off, and what you can do if you arrive early or would like to leave a little later.

Hotel Check-In and Check-Out Times

At Aksara Hotel, check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is by 12 noon. The time in between gives our team the chance to clean and prepare each room for the next guests.

It also helps to be clear about how nights are counted. If you check in on the 10th and check out on the 12th, you are staying two nights: the nights of the 10th and the 11th. When you search for rooms on the website, choose the day you leave the hotel as your check-out date, not your last night.

Our front desk is open 24 hours. So if your train or drive gets you in late at night, there will still be someone to welcome you and look after your check-in.

What to Bring at Check-In

Check-in is quicker when you have these to hand:

  • An identity document: an Indonesian ID card (KTP) for Indonesian guests, or a passport for international guests.
  • Your booking code: you will find it in the confirmation email you receive after booking.
  • Your phone with the confirmation email: useful if any booking details need checking with the team.
  • Any special requests: if you have them, mention them to the front desk at check-in.

Keep the confirmation email on your phone, or flag it, so your booking code is easy to find when you need it. It is a small habit that saves time at the front desk.

Once in your room, you will find air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a mini fridge, a safe, an electric kettle with tea and coffee, and free drinking water refills. Need a hair dryer or an iron? Both are available on request, so just mention it at check-in. The outdoor pool is open 24 hours, too, so an afternoon swim after check-in is always an option.

Before You Set Off

Check Your Booking Details

A day or two before you travel, open the Manage Booking page to make sure everything is as expected. Enter your booking code and the booker's email address, and we will send an access code to that email so you can open your booking.

There you can review your dates, rooms and booking details at any time. If anything looks wrong, contact our team on WhatsApp before your arrival day.

Arriving by Car or Train

If you are driving, Aksara Hotel offers valet parking, so there is no need to hunt for a space. The Pasteur toll gate is about 7 km from the hotel, with journey times depending on traffic.

If you are coming by train, Bandung station (Stasiun Bandung) is about 6 km away. We have put routes and access tips together in our guide to staying in Ciumbuleuit.

Arriving Early or Hoping to Leave Later

A morning train or a clear run on the roads can bring you here before 2 pm. Simply ask at the front desk whether your room is ready, or whether your luggage can be left with them for a while. It depends on how the day is going, so it is best not to build your plans around it.

While you wait, you can relax at Artisan Coffee on the 2nd floor. This mid-century coffee shop opens at 8 am and has a rooftop terrace looking out over the trees of Ciumbuleuit. An Es Kopi Susu Pandan or a plate of Nasi Goreng Merah makes a pleasant start to a holiday.

The same applies if you would like to check out later. Let the front desk know early, ideally the day before, so our team can see what is possible. If you need somewhere to wait for a train after checking out, ask about leaving your luggage too.

Tips for a Relaxed Check-Out

The last day always seems to go quickly. A few small habits will help you check out without a rush:

  1. Pack most of your things the night before, leaving out only what you need in the morning.
  2. Check the safe, the mini fridge, the drawers and the plug sockets before you leave the room.
  3. If you borrowed a hair dryer or an iron from the front desk, make sure it goes back.
  4. Allow extra travel time if you have a train to catch.
  5. Enjoy your last morning with a coffee at Artisan or breakfast out in Bandung, as room rates do not include breakfast at the moment.

To make sure nothing gets left behind in the first place, have a look at our staycation packing list too.

Enjoy a Smooth Stay

With check-in from 2 pm and check-out by 12 noon, the key is to plan your arrival and departure with a little room to spare. Have your ID and booking code ready, check your booking before you travel, and do not hesitate to ask the front desk, which is open around the clock.

Have a question before your arrival day? Our team is on WhatsApp, or you can reach us through the contact page. We look forward to welcoming you to Ciumbuleuit.
